K G Smith & Son is a family run business based in Hartwell, Northampton, NN7 2HF.
Operating since 1947 we are the largest independent coal merchant in the country.
Alongside our solid fuel range we specialize in beverage gases, industrial gas agents, as well as Calor gas agents.
We are looking for someone to join our delivery team as we prefer for the colder months and we head into our busiest time.
Duties to include
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery lorry to transport goods to customers
- Load and unload solid fuels, with occasionally delivery of gas cylinders, from the van.
- Follow the most efficient routes for deliveries by using our mobile devices.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Collect payments from customers, if necessary
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer interactions
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Commercial driving experience is preferred
- Ability to drive a van and navigate through various road conditions
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and carrying solid fuel
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods to our valued customers.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
