TITLE F B Supervisor 40 hours 5/7 REPORTING TO Food and Beverage Manager/Bar Manager/Breakfast Manager DIRECT REPORTS Food Beverage Assistants SUMMARY Responsible for assistance and support to the Food and Beverage Manager, with the responsibility for the day to day running of the F B services. Ensuring that the hotel values and standards are delivered and profitability achieved. Must be totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach. Implements the consistent delivery of the highest level of customer service. Ensures that the department generates a professional impression and ethos to all customers and team members. Participates with action on Customer Service Reports relevant to the department to achieve positive and consistent results. Acts on customer feedback relevant service. This to include customer complaints and compliments. Is aware of budgeted and actual departmental targets. This to include sales, covers, stocks levels and departmental profits. Ensures all the F B areas are clean, tidy and presentable at all times during the shift. Ensures the team members are well groomed, well presented and wearing the correct uniform at all times. Ensures the Room services to the guest are well presented and supervised. Ensures to follow up and pass the handover from the previous and next shifts. Is aware of and assists with the control of departmental operating costs in line with forecasted business levels. Maximises opportunities for sales and profit and other related targets. Ensures effective stock rotation and maintains stock levels in accordance with hotel business and company policy. This to include storage and use of equipment. Assists with stock-takes where required. Follows procedures for food and beverage controls at all times. Security of stock and equipment to be at the forefront of all operations daily. Assists with maintaining and improving departmental operating standards. Controls wastage/misused products and keeps it to a minimum. Positively approaches sales opportunities in order to maximise sales revenue and exceed budgeted sales targets for the department. Assists with and suggests new promotional opportunities to enable departmental sales to meet and exceed budget. This to include the planning, implementation and review of promotions. Keeps all department team members sales and guest experience focused. Assists with leading and motivating the departmental team to promote good employee morale and ensure a high level of commitment and pride in the Hotel. Carries out planned training and development in a systematic and professional way in order to meet the needs of the business and assist in individual team members’ personal development, both through formalised training sessions and day to day briefings. Assisting coaches and counselling colleagues to develop skills accordingly. Complies with statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Licensing Laws, Disability and ensures all employment legislation is strictly adhered to. Actions cleaning procedures and standards in line with standards. Ensures a professional and friendly all-day service throughout the hotel and standard are met. Keeps himself/herself informed of the Hotel goals and objectives, and those of other departments, maximising the role he/she plays in delivering the hotel budgeted targets. Operates IT systems in line with company standards where required. Assists in the training of new staff members. Attends training sessions and courses when required. Is fully aware of, competent in and follows at all times: Hotel fire procedures; Hotel security procedures; Hotel health safety policy and procedures; Hotel facilities and opportunities to promote these to customers; Hotel and departmental operational standards and procedures; Short- and long-term sales and marketing promotions; Customer service standards; Company and Hotel performance and conduct guidelines, policies and procedures. Completes all fire, health and safety training as requested. GENERIC To be constantly vigilant in respect of Health and Safety risks and report issues. To be constantly vigilant of security risks and immediately report any suspicious incidents.
