The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established UK business looking to hire an IT Specialist to support day-to-day operations across the site. This is a hands-on role where you'll act as a key point of contact for IT support, ensuring systems run smoothly and users are fully supported. Ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working across a broad tech stack, and being visible within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support across the business
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure (switching, WiFi, VOIP, backups)
  • Manage and maintain IT hardware (laptops, desktops, mobile devices)
  • Handle issues with printers, scanners, and copiers within SLA
  • Take ownership of incidents from initial investigation through to resolution
  • Escalate complex or high-priority issues where required
  • Maintain and update the service desk (Jira), ensuring timely responses
  • Ensure systems and processes align with company policies and standards

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Office 365
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware (laptops, desktops, phones)
  • Experience with printer support and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of WiFi and IT connectivity concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 4 (or higher) in ICT / Telecommunications
  • Networking certifications (e.g. CCNA, Network+)
  • Experience with Cisco switching
  • Exposure to firewall technologies
  • Knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019)
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, NAT, Group Policy
  • Experience with backup technologies or VOIP systems
