K.A.G. Recruitment is proud to be exclusively partnering with our client, a leader within the Food industry, to recruit a Food Process Specifications Supervisor to join their existing team based in Ellesmere, Shropshire.

Location: Ellesmere, Shropshire

Package: £34,000 to £38,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am to 4:30pm (flexibility on start/finish times due to business needs)

Purpose of the Role:

  • You will be accountable for technical aspects of the retail operation in conjunction with the Process and Specifications Manager, ensuring customer and legal expectations are consistently met in relation to Food Safety, Integrity and Product Quality.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the equipment capabilities at the site.
  • Work as part of the site Process team ensuring that all NPD EPD products are launched by fully utilising and adopting the NPD/EPD Development Process.
  • Support with the completion of actions to deliver specific process improvements to current practices and methodologies.
  • Support the site with the completion of site trials to validate the suitability of new/novel ingredients.
  • Support with trials on new/innovative equipment with the ability to measure and complete detailed accurate reports outlining the output of trials.
  • Have a clear understanding of any packaging innovation and site trials.
  • Support the sites with any process related issues that require a resolution.
  • Ensure products specifications and product artworks are produced in a legal, safe manner which ensures they comply with the relevant customer and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure products are developed in a manner that follows the NPD Process and meets the required timescales and timelines which align with the customer expectations.
  • Support the Process and Specifications Manager in planning, executing and presenting trials and results from these trials.
  • You will assist in the NPD Concept to Launch process in conjunction with Retail Technical/Process and Specifications Manager ensuring customer satisfaction and process is adhered to.
  • Promote a positive Food Safety Culture within the site ensuring all requirements are met, regularly reviewed and action plans developed and implemented actively and effectively.
  • Liaise with the Senior Management Teams where required to ensure all teams are working towards the same goal.

  • You will be confident using Retailer systems and managing customer specifications with strong communication skills and the ability to work well across departments, ensuring the Quality Management System is applied and relevant to every aspect from product development, ensuring all audits/checks are being carried out in accordance with the existing procedures and to the required frequency.
  • You'll excel in this business if you're someone who likes to understand the 'Why' behind the work. Someone who can look at a process and ask, 'How can we do this better?' and then help make that happen.
