K.A.G Recruitment are delighted to bring you a fantastic exclusive opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Production Manager to join one of Europe's leading privately-owned food manufacturers based in Doncaster.

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 DOE plus KPI Bonus

Hours: 42 hours per week

Reporting to: Production Manager

Purpose of the Role

Supporting the Production Manager, you will take responsibility for a designated production area, ensuring customer orders are produced efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of a designated production department.
  • Ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Communicate production schedules and daily targets to Team Leaders.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and Production Operatives.
  • Manage labour planning and departmental staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, GMP and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Liaise with Technical, HR, Training and Health & Safety teams.
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Produce accurate reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

You will have previous supervisory or management experience within a fast-paced Food Manufacturing or FMCG environment, with a proven ability to lead and motivate production teams. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be proactive in your approach to problem-solving, and have experience managing operational KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement. You will be able to prioritise effectively in a demanding production environment, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
