NPD Plants Assistant (Part-time, 24 hrs) — Holbeach
Do you alphabetise your seed packets? Does a tidy bench spark joy? Can you charm both begonias and spreadsheets? We\’re hunting a self-starting, hands-on NPD Plants Assistant to join our fast-paced New Product Development team, turning bright ideas into brilliant, retail-ready horticultural products for major UK retailers.
You\’ll help shepherd products from \”ooh, that\’s clever\” to \”on the shelf,\” taking initiative, juggling deadlines, and keeping everything looking sharp enough to impress even the fussiest fern.
What you\’ll be doing (green thumbs and steady nerves required)
- Owning NPD housekeeping and organisation. If there\’s a label to be made, you\’ve already made it.
- Prepping planting presentations, customer photoshoots and bespoke product mock-ups that make buyers say \”we\’ll take it.\”
- Following NPD briefs across multiple customer accounts without breaking a sweat—or a stem.
- Wrangling packaging and hardware samples for review, feedback and the occasional dramatic rethink.
- Managing the sampling process to and from customers like a well-oiled potting bench.
- Snapping online product photography, doing light edits, and creating slick presentation mock-ups.
- Liaising with lovely humans across the UK and Holland.
- Pitching in at our Hull production site for pre-production and new product launches. Hi-vis, but make it horticulture.
- Creating and maintaining hardware order forms with monk-like precision.
- Lending a hand to other teams during peak periods—because we\’re all in the same greenhouse.
What you bring (besides a can-do watering can)
Essential
- Happy working independently with minimal supervision; you don\’t need someone to stake you every five minutes.
- Fierce organisation and time management; you can weed out chaos.
- Positive, proactive attitude and meticulous attention to detail.
- Deadline-friendly composure—no wilting under pressure.
- Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUPs, not just vibes).
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
- A flexible team spirit suited to a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in horticulture or FMCG.
- Understanding of flowers/plants supply chains.
- A nose for customer-facing presentation standards.
- Photography chops and basic editing know-how.
Who you are
A personable, professional communicator; a self-starter who thrives amid shifting priorities; and someone who can keep standards sky-high while the pace is set to \”spring.\”
