We are working with a fast-growing accountancy and business advisory practice seeking an experienced Commercial Funding Manager to join their specialist Funding Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a progressive and people-focused organisation that supports SMEs across a wide range of sectors with tailored funding and finance solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping business owners secure new funding and refinance existing facilities, providing strategic advice and guidance throughout the funding process. Working closely with clients, lenders, and professional contacts, you will deliver bespoke funding solutions that support business growth and long-term success.

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with business owners and management teams to understand funding requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and securing a range of funding facilities, including commercial property finance and cash flow and growth funding.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with lenders and funding providers.
  • Evaluating funding options and presenting recommendations to clients in a clear and commercially focused manner.
  • Managing funding transactions from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Building relationships across multiple office locations and service lines to generate opportunities.
  • Reviewing financial information, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Assessing funding proposals and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues by sharing knowledge of the SME funding market.
  • Maintaining compliance with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and risk management procedures.
  • Representing the business at networking events and industry functions to develop new opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within SME banking, commercial banking, corporate finance, funding advisory, or relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of commercial funding products and lending markets.
  • Experience assessing business finance requirements and structuring funding solutions.
  • Ability to analyse financial statements, forecasts, and funding proposals.
  • Strong credit analysis and commercial assessment skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and challenge business owners and management teams constructively.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
