A leading regional accountancy and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager to join their dynamic team in Bristol. With an outstanding reputation in the education sector, particularly within Multi Academy Trusts and Further Education Colleges, this firm is one of the UK's top providers of audit services in this space. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Audit Manager ready to take the next step, or an existing Senior Manager seeking a fresh challenge in a growing and values-driven organisation.
The role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping audit delivery, mentoring others, and contributing to sector-level developments, including dialogue with regulatory and government bodies.
Responsibilities- Lead, plan, and deliver external audits for a wide range of Multi-Academy Trusts and FE Colleges
- Manage a client portfolio, ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and of high quality
- Supervise and support the development of audit team members, providing coaching and performance feedback
- Contribute to the operational development of the education sector team, including improving methodology, internal training, and regulatory engagement
- Take part in the wider business development of the audit and education teams, including networking, tenders, and presenting at sector events
- Monitor job budgets, fee negotiations, and billing processes
- Maintain and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and sector bodies
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Extensive experience managing audit assignments, preferably with education sector or Not-for-Profit clients
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to audit quality and client service
- Ability to manage multiple projects while developing others within the team
- Strong commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement
