We are recruiting for an established and forward-thinking accountancy and business advisory practice seeking a Corporate Tax Senior to join its growing tax team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional currently working in a compliance-focused role who is looking to broaden their advisory exposure. The role will involve supporting a varied client portfolio, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate groups, while gaining experience across specialist areas such as transactions, share schemes, R&D tax relief, capital allowances and complex corporate tax matters. The position would suit an ambitious individual looking to develop technically within a supportive, collaborative and flexible working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns
  • Support senior colleagues with corporate tax advisory projects
  • Assist with capital allowances, R&D tax relief claims, transactions and restructuring work
  • Undertake tax technical research for client assignments
  • Support tax due diligence projects and wider corporate tax planning work
  • Work with clients across a range of sectors, including owner-managed businesses and corporate groups
  • Liaise with HMRC, clients and professional contacts
  • Collaborate with audit and accounts teams on annual tax compliance assignments
  • Manage work to agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards
  • Support and mentor junior members of the tax team
  • Assist with tax administration and internal compliance requirements
  • Contribute to business development and marketing activity where required
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver a high standard of service

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a corporate tax role within accountancy practice
  • ATT, CTA, ACA/CTA qualified, or part-qualified with relevant experience
  • Strong corporation tax compliance knowledge
  • Interest in developing advisory experience across specialist tax areas
  • Good understanding of tax compliance standards and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident communicating with clients, colleagues and HMRC
  • Professional, proactive and client-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Experience supporting junior team members would be advantageous
  • Experience using Alphatax would be beneficial
