JW Security is looking for an experienced locksmith to join our growing team.
We are seeking a reliable and skilled locksmith with proven experience in domestic and commercial locksmithing.
The ideal candidate will be confident carrying out lock openings, repairs, replacements, upgrades, and new installations while providing an excellent level of customer service.
Experience working on UPVC, composite, aluminium, patio, French and bifold door systems is essential.
You should also be confident working on UPVC windows, including gaining access, diagnosing faults, replacing espag window mechanisms, window handles, friction stays, hinges and other associated hardware, ensuring windows operate and lock correctly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a locksmith.
- Own van, tools, and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of lock openings, repairs, replacements, installations, and security upgrades.
- Confident working on UPVC, composite and aluminium doors and windows.
- Experienced replacing multipoint locking mechanisms, gearboxes, window espag mechanisms, window handles, friction stays, door handles, hinges and cylinders.
- Confident gaining access to locked or faulty UPVC windows and replacing faulty window mechanisms, window handles and friction stays.
- Ability to diagnose and repair bifold, French, patio and sliding door systems.
- Ability to gain entry using non-destructive methods whenever possible.
- Excellent fault-finding skills and attention to detail.
- Professional, reliable and well presented.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Attend emergency call-outs and scheduled appointments.
- Diagnose and resolve lock and security issues efficiently.
- Install, repair and replace locks, multipoint mechanisms, gearboxes, handles, cylinders, hinges and associated hardware.
- Carry out lock openings and repairs to UPVC, composite and aluminium doors.
- Gain access to and repair UPVC windows, including supplying and installing espag window mechanisms, window handles, friction stays, hinges and related hardware.
- Repair and maintain bifold, French, patio and sliding door systems.
- Complete work to a consistently high standard.
- Represent JW Security professionally at all times.
- Communicate effectively with customers and the office regarding job progress.
- Complete job records and photographs where required.
