Are you an experienced Hotel Financial Controller or Finance Manager looking for your next challenge?

We\'re working with a well-established corporate hotel in Manchester to recruit an experienced Hotel Financial Controller to take ownership of the hotel\'s finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with self-accounting hotel experience who enjoys working closely with operational teams and playing a key role in the commercial success of the business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the hotel, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and providing commercial insight to support business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full responsibility for the hotel\'s finance function within a self-accounting environment.
• Producing weekly and monthly management accounts, P&L reports and financial analysis.
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.
• Reconciling balance sheets and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Managing payroll processes and financial controls.
• Monitoring costs, margins and departmental performance to maximise profitability.
• Preparing VAT returns and ensuring statutory compliance.
• Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control functions.
• Supporting Heads of Department with financial reporting and budget management.
• Working closely with the General Manager to identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Liaising with external auditors and accountants where required.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures.

About You

We\'re looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working within a fast-paced hotel environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Hotel Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar within the UK hotel sector.
• Essential experience working within a self-accounting hotel.
• Strong knowledge of hotel finance processes and management reporting.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• A proactive and hands-on approach with the confidence to support operational managers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and hotel finance systems.
• A professional accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
