Kabuni is an AI-powered multi-sport coaching platform built around Kabuni PlayOS, a system combining computer vision, biomechanics, and AI to deliver real-time performance coaching at scale.

You will be the first dedicated finance professional in the business, working directly with the founder.

We are looking for an ambitious, technically strong Financial Controller to own Kabuni's financial infrastructure across our UK and Indian entities. This is not a traditional FC role. We need someone who can build as well as report; who understands what it means to work in an early revenue business and can operate with high autonomy from day one.

Location: London (3 days in the office)

Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (negotiable)

Equity: 0.25% – 0.5% EMI Options

Entities: UK Parent + Indian Subsidiary

What You'll Own:

  • Financial Operations: Build and maintain Kabuni's financial infrastructure from the ground up to include chart of accounts, close process, reporting cadence. Manage UK (VAT/MTD) and India (GST) compliance across both entities. You will be given support in both UK and India. Own the weekly cashflow model and investor-facing reporting. Lead the ERP/accounting system implementation (NetSuite OneWorld or equivalent). Manage payroll for UK and India, including INR-denominated cost tracking for the Bangalore engineering team and the wider Indian team as we build out.
  • Investor & Fundraising Support: Maintain financial models and financial materials for the data room. Manage RBI/FIRMS EMF filings and cross-border transfer documentation for the Indian subsidiary. Grant Thornton are our global advisors who will be able to support. Build and maintain board-ready management accounts.
  • Build & Automation: Automate financial workflows from order fulfilment reconciliation to payroll and FX tracking. Build tools and dashboards that give the leadership team real-time visibility on cash, burn, and unit economics. Partner with the automation team in Bangalore and London to integrate financial data.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential: ACA qualified (ICAEW). Demonstrable ability to build: systems, tools, automations, not just maintain. Prior experience in a startup environment with VC investors. Comfortable operating across UK and international (ideally Indian) regulatory frameworks. Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills. Exceptional communication with the ability to translate numbers into narrative for investors and board.
  • Highly Desirable: Dual ACA + ICAI qualification. Familiarity with RBI/FIRMS filings, GST, and India company law. Background in sports, media, consumer tech, or hardware businesses. NetSuite or similar multi-entity ERP experience.

Why Kabuni: You will be joining at the earliest and most consequential stage, shaping the financial DNA of a business that is building the future of sports coaching. You will work closely with the founder, have a seat at the table on every strategic decision, and earn meaningful equity in a company with global sport partnerships already in place.

Direct line to the founder. No hierarchy, no politics. Cricket Australia partnerships already confirmed alongside many others. Global rollout beginning in India and Australia in 2026/27. Competitive base with EMI options (0.25–0.5%) vesting over 4 years.

Application process: Applications will be closed on Wednesday 17 June 2026, after which applications will be reviewed by JW Markets for fit. Candidates will be informed by JW Markets if they have been shortlisted (maximum 10 candidates, 5 expected). Kabuni will arrange first round interviews direct with the candidate.
