Class 2 Driver (Drayman) – Middleton

We are excited to announce that we are now recruiting for a Class 2 Driver (Drayman) to join the logistics team at JW Lees.

Requirements

• Class 2 / Class 1 driving licence
• Up-to-date drivers CPC and Tacho card

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance with relevant legislation, e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
• Report to the transport office before your start time
• Conduct daily vehicle checks for defects
• Complete relevant paperwork for any defects found
• Assist with loading temperature-sensitive cask products onto the vehicle safely (if operating with a 2-person crew)
• Unload full products safely at delivery points
• Handle deliveries professionally to minimize breakages
• Load empties from deliveries safely
• Administer paperwork, including obtaining signatures on delivery notes and issuing copies to customers
• Ensure loads are safe before proceeding to the next delivery using dynamic risk assessments
• Return to the brewery after completing the run and unload empties at designated areas
• Report to the Transport Office for any outstanding tasks
• Assist other departments as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of oneself and the vehicle
• Adhere to Drivers Hours rules and regulations regarding Tachographs and Working Time Directive
• Provide high levels of customer service, aiming to exceed expectations
• Attend relevant training courses to support your role
• Night outs may be required occasionally for holiday cover, but not regularly
