Our client is a rapidly growing retailer and they have an exciting new role for an experienced Head of Marketing. The Head of Marketing will lead the marketing department on a day to day basis reporting directly to the Marketing Director. The role will offer the necessary support to the wider marketing team on key projects, and workstreams. They will take responsibility for the marketing budget vs. plan and ensuring all elements of the marketing plan are delivered vs. the critical path. The role will focus on the UK marketing, building out plans for strategic growth working with key partners and the business function leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and full commercial ownership of the marketing function, including budget planning, control and reporting, ensuring marketing spend is optimised to deliver maximum business return.
- Develop and execute a long-term commercial growth strategy that consistently delivers profitable year-on-year revenue growth, aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Lead the creation and delivery of a fully integrated, multi-channel marketing strategy that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition and retention, in close alignment with the company’s strategy and business plans.
- Own and govern relationships with all key external partners and agencies (media, PR, digital, social, research and insight), ensuring best-in-class execution, strong commercial terms, and continuous value creation.
- Establish a data-driven marketing culture, with clear ownership of performance metrics, insight, reporting and action planning to continuously optimise marketing effectiveness and ROI.
- Lead, coach and develop the marketing leadership team, building a high-performance culture that supports talent growth, succession planning and organisational capability.
- Act as a senior member of the team, working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Product and Leadership to ensure marketing is fully aligned with and driving overall business strategy.
Experience
- At least 3 years experience in a Head of Marketing position, ideally within a fast paced retail environment.
- Experience of working to deliver/manage/integrate a loyalty programme preferred.
- Experience managing large scale marketing budgets.
