About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wisbech who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development across the primary age range. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
The school is committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners. This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to further develop their career within primary education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils who require additional assistance
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning resources
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning
- Support the delivery of interventions to raise attainment and progress
- Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Assist with classroom organisation and the creation of a stimulating learning environment
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting
- A good understanding of the primary curriculum is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, positive, and supportive approach
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
- A proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting learning and development
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is advantageous but not essential
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential
- Two recent education-based references
