About the role:

We are recruiting a dedicated Childcare & Early Years Lecturer to join a well‑established college in Wakefield from September 2026. This long‑term position offers the flexibility of full‑time or 0.6 part‑time hours, making it ideal for professionals seeking stability while maintaining work‑life balance. You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of early years practitioners, delivering high‑quality teaching across Level 1–Level 3 programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery — Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with childcare and early years qualifications.
  • Learner Assessment — Mark work, track progress and provide constructive feedback to support learner achievement.
  • Classroom & Workshop Facilitation — Create a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.
  • Industry‑Relevant Guidance — Equip learners with the knowledge, behaviours and practical skills required for early years settings.
  • Team Collaboration — Work closely with curriculum leads, support staff and quality teams to maintain high standards.

Pre‑requisites:

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (PGCE, CertEd or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching childcare or early years in a college or FE environment.
  • Strong understanding of early years frameworks, safeguarding and sector expectations.
  • Confident in planning, assessment and supporting diverse learner needs.
