About the role:
justteachers are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in Bourne who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
Start date –
September 2026
Hours –
Monday to Friday, 8.20am – 3.30pm
Contract –
Long term supply, expected to last the full academic year
The successful candidate will work closely with Key Stage 2 pupils, providing classroom support and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning activities.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Encourage positive behaviour and model appropriate attitudes and interactions.
- Provide additional support for pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Promote pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
- Assist with classroom management and daily routines.
- Support the implementation of intervention programmes where required.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
- Contribute to educational visits, enrichment activities, and school events.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children in a primary school, educational, childcare, or youth setting.
- A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with children.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Two recent education-based references.
