About the role:
Justteachers are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive SEN school in Stratford from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional who is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned learning activities to individuals and small groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Support teaching staff in the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Lead learning sessions and interventions when required.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress and attainment.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and external professionals.
Pre-requisites:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience working within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD and communication difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
