Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH.
- Create a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning.
- Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to support pupils’ emotional regulation.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, resilience, and personal growth.
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external professionals to meet individual needs.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEND, or in alternative provision (desirable but not essential).
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach.
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse and complex needs.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable learners and making a positive impact on their development.
