About the role:
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and nurturing primary school in Sheffield. The position begins in September and will run on a full-time temporary basis as a long-term supply role until Christmas. You will be supporting a school known for its warm community feel, strong inclusive values, and a positive learning environment where children are encouraged to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting classroom learning by working closely with the Year 3 teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities
- Leading small-group interventions to help pupils progress in core subjects
- Promoting positive behaviour and contributing to a calm, structured classroom environment
- Preparing learning resources and helping maintain an organised and stimulating learning space
- Supervising pupils during transitions, break times, and other non-teaching periods
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications suitable for supporting learning in a primary school
- Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally within KS2
- Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and effective support strategies
- Two education or school-based references
- Any other relevant requirements for the role, such as excellent communication skills and a current enhanced DBS
