About the role:
Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Leeds area from September through December, with the potential for the placement to be extended. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute positively to the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive Design & Technology lessons.
- Teach DT across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable but not essential).
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Create a safe and stimulating workshop/classroom environment.
- Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential.
- Follow school policies regarding safeguarding, behaviour management, and attendance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning and development.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics)
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
