About the role:
Justteachers is looking to recruit a resilient and supportive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Gainsborough area on a long-term basis.
This full-time position is available to start ASAP, with shortlisting currently in progress. The school is committed to creating a calm and consistent learning environment, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to build confidence and re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs on a one‑to‑one or small‑group basis
- Supporting behaviour management and helping pupils develop positive coping strategies
- Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working in an SEMH, SEND, or behaviour support setting
- Experience supporting children or young people with emotional and behavioural challenges
- An understanding of behaviour management techniques and de‑escalation strategies
- Two education or school‑based references
