About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable A Level Chemistry Lecturer to join a forward-thinking sixth‑form team in Selby. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, with additional teaching responsibilities across Level 3 Applied Science. The role runs Monday to Friday and is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive academic environment and is committed to delivering high-quality teaching throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- A Level Chemistry Delivery - Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons aligned with AQA/Edexcel specifications.
- Applied Science Teaching - Deliver selected Level 3 Applied Science units with a strong practical and investigative focus.
- Student Progress Monitoring - Track learner achievement, provide targeted feedback and maintain accurate records.
- Curriculum Contribution - Support curriculum development, enrichment activities and collaborative planning.
- Safeguarding & Compliance - Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety and college policies are followed.
Pre-requisites:
- Subject Expertise - Degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Teaching Qualification - PGCE, QTS, QTLS or substantial FE teaching experience.
- FE Experience - Proven ability to teach A Level Chemistry; Applied Science experience is advantageous.
- Communication Skills - Confident classroom presence with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
