About the role:

Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming SEN school in Rugby to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs across different age groups, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The role is due to start in September 2026, although the school is happy to welcome an exceptional candidate before then if available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist students with a range of Special Educational Needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent support.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs.

Pre-requisites:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
  • Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential if you have suitable experience.
