About the role:
Justteachers are recruiting for an enthusiastic and caring SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a specialist SEN school in Rugby from September 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the highest standard of educational and pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted interventions and structured learning activities.
- Provide classroom support and lead lessons in the absence of the teacher when required.
- Adapt resources and learning materials to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils with communication, sensory and behavioural needs.
- Contribute to assessment, monitoring and reporting processes.
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Pre-requisites:
- HLTA qualification or substantial experience in a similar role.
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEN.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a specialist educational environment.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
