We are seeking a dedicated EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary setting in Rotherham from September on a full-time, long-term supply basis. This rewarding role involves supporting young learners within the Early Years Foundation Stage with additional needs, helping them to access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning atmosphere for all pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to EYFS pupils with SEND
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities in line with EHCPs and individual needs
- Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to review meetings
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications
- Proven experience of supporting children with SEND, particularly within EYFS
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and SEND support strategies
- Two education or school-based references
- A patient, nurturing approach with strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding
