About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Pontefract from September on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week on a long-term supply contract. This exciting opportunity involves delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages, supporting students to develop their literacy and analytical skills. Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of abilities and learning needs
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Foster a positive and productive classroom environment
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold school policies
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications, including QTS or equivalent
- Proven experience of teaching English at secondary level
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Two education or school-based references
- Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for inspiring learners
