About the role:
justteachers is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Science Teacher to work within a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time role starting in September 2026, initially through to Christmas, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Social Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to departmental planning and school initiatives
- Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusion
- Provide constructive feedback to support student development
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Proven experience teaching Social Science subjects at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge in Sociology, Psychology, or related fields
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Two recent professional references
