About the role:
Justteachers are currently recruiting for a passionate and creative Music Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Leeds. This role begins in September, initially running until Christmas, with the strong possibility of continuing through to the end of the academic year for the right candidate.
You will inspire students through engaging music lessons, encouraging creativity and performance across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons that engage and motivate students
- Teach a broad music curriculum, including theory, performance, and composition
- Prepare students for assessments, coursework, and performances
- Encourage participation in extracurricular activities such as choirs, bands, and school productions
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain a positive learning environment and strong classroom management
- Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental development
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
- Strong subject knowledge, including practical and theoretical music skills
- Ability to play at least one instrument confidently (multi-instrumentalists desirable)
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
