About the role:
justteachers are seeking an experienced TA3 to join a specialist education setting in Newark on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for a confident and capable Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and is ready to take on additional responsibility within the classroom. Working closely with teaching staff, you will play a key role in delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, helping them to make meaningful progress both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured learning activities and targeted interventions under the direction of the class teacher
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, SEMH, and complex needs
- Support the planning and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual pupil needs
- Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation strategies
- Encourage the development of communication, social, and independence skills
- Assist with monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Pre-requisites:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a school setting
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (highly desirable)
- TA3 qualification or equivalent level of experience
- A confident, proactive, and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff
- Ability to build positive and effective relationships with pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
