About the role:
Justteachers are working with a thriving and inclusive sixth form college to appoint a Teacher of Applied Science on a part-time basis starting in September 2026.
The sixth form college is committed to delivering high-quality education to students aged 16–19. They pride themselves on a supportive environment, strong academic outcomes, and focus on preparing learners for higher education, apprenticeships, and employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Applied Science
- Plan and deliver outstanding lessons in Applied Science
- Teach across a range of units such as biology, chemistry, and physics within the Applied Science curriculum
- Assess and track student progress, providing effective feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Support students’ academic and personal development
- Participate in enrichment activities, trips, and wider college life
Pre-requisites:
- Hold a relevant degree (e.g. Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline)
- Have a teaching qualification
- Have experience delivering BTEC or vocational science qualifications
- Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for science education
- Is committed to inclusive teaching and student success
- Has strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Have two school based references
