About the role:
Justteachers are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Leeds from September. This is a full-time, temporary position through to Christmas, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to explore different beliefs, values, and ethical perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Engage students in discussions around religion, philosophy, and ethics
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Contribute to departmental planning and school initiatives
- Uphold school behaviour policies and maintain high standards of conduct
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and carers where required
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of religions and ethical topics
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A passion for education and student development
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two school based references
