About the role
Justteachers are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Leeds area. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students and contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking department.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable), helping students develop a strong grasp of English language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL students
- Monitor and manage student behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school activities
- Support students in achieving their academic potential and personal development
Pre-requisites
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in English Language and/or English Literature
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
- Two school based references
