About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in King’s Lynn who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting young people in achieving their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom to help them access learning, develop confidence, and succeed academically and personally.
The school prides itself on fostering a supportive and positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to thrive. This role would suit someone with previous school-based experience or an individual looking to develop a career within education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide learning support to students across a range of subjects and year groups
- Support students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum effectively
- Work alongside class teachers to deliver targeted interventions and classroom support
- Encourage student engagement, participation, and independence in learning
- Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Assist with the implementation of individual support plans where required
- Promote positive behaviour and reinforce the school’s behaviour expectations
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
- Contribute to the wider school community and support extracurricular activities where appropriate
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting
- Experience supporting students with SEND is desirable but not essential
- A patient, positive, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and act as a role model
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A genuine passion for education and supporting student achievement
- Two recent education-based references
