About the role:
justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Norwich who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Primary Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate and committed teacher who is eager to inspire young learners and create a positive, engaging classroom environment where every child can thrive. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning within a Year 2 class, supporting pupils to achieve their full academic and personal potential as they progress through Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and positive learning behaviours.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using assessment information to inform planning and support individual learning needs.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining pupils.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure all pupils receive appropriate support.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour through effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including staff meetings, parent consultations, and school events.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support pupils' learning and development.
- Work closely with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to curriculum development.
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met at all times and promote the welfare of every child.
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for all pupils.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2, is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum and assessment requirements.
- A passion for delivering engaging, child-centred learning experiences.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to teaching.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting the needs of all learners.
- Two recent education-based references.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
