About the role:
justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in King’s Lynn who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Primary Teacher to join their team on a part-time (0.6 FTE), long-term basis from September.
This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an experienced and passionate teacher who is committed to supporting pupils during their final year of primary education. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching within a Year 6 class, helping pupils achieve their academic potential while preparing them for a smooth and confident transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
- Support pupils in their academic progress, ensuring they are well prepared for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments and the transition to secondary education.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupils to achieve their best.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, using assessment data to inform planning and targeted interventions.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining learners.
- Promote positive behaviour through effective classroom management and high expectations.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, senior leaders, and colleagues to support pupil achievement and wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support learning both in school and at home.
- Attend staff meetings, parents’ evenings, and other school events relevant to your contracted working days.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and commitment to inclusive education.
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met at all times and promote the welfare of every child.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 2 is essential, with Year 6 experience being highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum and end-of-Key Stage 2 assessment requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage pupils of all abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A flexible, proactive, and collaborative approach to teaching.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting every child to reach their full potential.
- Two recent education-based references.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
