About the role:
Justteachers is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in the Huddersfield area on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time opportunity starting in September, with interviews and shortlisting currently in progress. The school prides itself on fostering an inclusive and structured environment, placing strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing, personalised learning, and positive behaviour support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering differentiated lessons tailored to meet a range of special educational needs
- Supporting learners with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties throughout the school day
- Contributing to and implementing EHCP outcomes and individual learning programmes
- Applying effective classroom and behaviour management strategies to promote engagement
- Working closely with support staff, SEND teams, and wider school professionals to maximise pupil progress
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching within an SEN or inclusive education setting
- A background supporting pupils with needs such as SEMH, ASD, or moderate learning difficulties
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation approaches
- A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Two recent education or school-based references
