About the role:
Justteachers is looking to appoint a motivated Behaviour Support Worker to join a welcoming school in the Halifax area on a long-term basis. This full-time position is set to begin in September, with shortlisting already in progress. The school is dedicated to maintaining a calm and supportive learning environment, with a strong emphasis on promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering tailored lessons to pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional, and learning challenges throughout the school day
- Developing and implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Using effective behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and progress
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEND staff, and pastoral teams
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Previous experience working in an SEN, SEND, or inclusive classroom setting
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as SEMH, ASD, or learning difficulties
- A strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- The ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Two education or school-based references
