About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant, who is looking for a long term role in a Secondary school in the Grangr over Sands area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in September 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.
A vibrant and diverse secondary school dedicated to nurturing potential, promoting positive behaviour, and delivering a broad curriculum that prepares students for future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- support pupils with additional needs in class
- deliver targeted interventions and small group work
- assist with EHCP targets and learning plans
- encourage pupil independence and confidence
- work closely with teachers and SENCO
- adapt resources for individual learning needs
- monitor and record pupil progress
- support behaviour management strategies
- help maintain a supportive learning environment
- ensure safeguarding and wellbeing support
Pre-requisites:
- experience supporting SEND pupils
- prior UK school experience
- understanding of EHCPs and interventions
- strong communication and patience
