About the role:
We are recruiting a compassionate and motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist provision in Evesham. Beginning in September 2026, this rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them access education and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning programmes.
- Support students in managing emotions and developing positive coping strategies.
- Encourage participation, engagement and attendance.
- Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
- Empathetic, patient and resilient personality.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Relevant education, care or support qualifications are desirable.
