About the role:
A specialist SEN school in Evesham is looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stages 3, 4 and Post-16 from September 2026. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about preparing young people with additional needs for adulthood, independence and future opportunities.
The successful candidate will support students with Autism, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and complex communication needs, helping them access both academic and life-skills-based learning programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
- Support students in accessing academic, vocational and life-skills learning activities.
- Promote independence, self-confidence and positive social interactions.
- Assist with behaviour management plans and emotional regulation strategies.
- Support students during community-based learning and enrichment activities where required.
- Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals to implement EHCP targets.
- Record and report on student progress and wellbeing.
Pre-requisites:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with young people with SEN within a secondary, specialist or alternative provision setting.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive professional relationships with students, staff and parents.
