About the role
We are looking for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly mainstream primary school in Doncaster from September on a full‑time temporary basis. This long‑term role involves supporting pupils with additional needs within a nurturing school that prides itself on its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and a warm, community‑focused environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND across the primary curriculum
- Assist with individual learning plans and targeted interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and activities
- Maintain clear communication with staff, parents and external professionals
Pre‑requisites
- Relevant TA or SEND‑related qualifications
- Proven experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of primary SEND needs and effective support strategies
- Two education or school‑based references
- A current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
- A patient, compassionate approach and commitment to inclusive practice
