About the role:
This long‑term opportunity is ideal for a confident, knowledgeable Year 6 Teacher with strong experience across upper KS2, ready to join a welcoming primary school in the Dewsbury area of Kirklees from September 2026. You’ll play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school, delivering high‑quality teaching with assurance, clarity and a strong classroom presence. The school is open to full‑time or part‑time/job‑share arrangements, making this a flexible yet impactful position for the right practitioner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding Year 6 teaching — Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that build confidence and mastery across the KS2 curriculum.
- Prepare pupils for SATs — Provide targeted support, challenge and intervention to ensure strong outcomes.
- Maintain high behaviour standards — Create a calm, focused learning environment with clear expectations.
- Track and assess progress — Use assessment data to inform planning and personalise learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues — Work closely with the KS2 team to support curriculum continuity and shared planning.
- Engage in wider school life — Participate in meetings, CPD and pastoral responsibilities.
Pre‑requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong, proven experience teaching upper KS2, ideally Year 6.
