About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a SEND Nurture Provision within a mainstream primary school in Castleford from September 2026. This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week on a long-term supply basis. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, delivering tailored learning experiences that promote both academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils within the SEND Nurture Provision.
- Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive outcomes.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress and development.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and parents to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development through targeted interventions and strategies.
Pre-requisites
- Relevant teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Proven experience of teaching primary-aged pupils, including those with SEND needs.
- Strong knowledge of SEND strategies, inclusive teaching practices, and differentiated learning approaches.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Experience working within a nurture provision or supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs is desirable.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
