About the role
We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)to join a welcoming primary school in Castleford. The role is due to start September and is offered on a temporary, full-time basis on supply, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2. This position will run on a long-term supply basis until July 27, providing classroom cover, supporting teaching and learning, and delivering small group interventions when required. The school is known for its inclusive and supportive ethos, where staff work collaboratively to create a positive learning environment and help pupils thrive academically and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide classroom cover across Key Stage 2 in the absence of the class teacher
- Deliver planned lessons and support pupils with their learning and progress
- Lead small group interventions to support pupil attainment and confidence
- Work closely with teaching staff to support lesson delivery and classroom management
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications
- Proven experience of working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- Two education or school-based references
- HLTA status or equivalent experience covering lessons in a primary school
