About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Castleford from September 2026. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent position, initially offered on a long-term supply basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their performance and creative skills. The school is recognised for its supportive learning environment, strong community values, and commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons that inspire creativity and confidence.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and attainment.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation.
- Support students in developing performance, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Contribute to school productions, extracurricular activities, and departmental initiatives.
Pre-requisites
- Relevant teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Proven experience of teaching Drama within a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Drama curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Two education or school-based references.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
