About the role:
Justteachers is seeking an SEMH Instructor to join a vibrant specialist school in the Burnley area on a long‑term basis. The full‑time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs through a structured, therapeutic and relationship‑based approach, helping learners re‑engage with education and develop positive behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering structured lessons and activities tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
- Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing within the classroom
- Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement individual support plans
Pre‑requisites:
- Relevant qualifications or experience working with pupils with SEMH needs
- Proven experience supporting behaviour and engagement in an educational or alternative setting
- Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies, behaviour management and de‑escalation techniques
- Two education or school‑based references
