About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a Trainee Outdoor Education Teacher to join a specialist school in the Burnley area on a long‑term basis.
The full‑time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place.
The school is well‑known for its commitment to experiential learning, outdoor adventure and building resilience, offering pupils opportunities to grow in confidence through hands‑on, nature‑based education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of outdoor learning sessions and adventure‑based activities
- Encouraging pupils to build teamwork, confidence and resilience through structured challenges
- Assisting teachers and instructors with planning, safety management and behaviour support
Pre‑requisites:
- Relevant qualifications or a genuine interest in outdoor education
- Proven experience supporting children or young people in an educational or outdoor setting
- Strong knowledge of outdoor learning approaches, safety, and positive behaviour support
- Two education or school‑based references
