About the role:
Justteachers are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for specialist schools across Birmingham. These rewarding roles involve supporting pupils across primary and secondary age groups with a variety of additional learning needs including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties.
The positions are available from September 2026, with earlier starts available for outstanding candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality classroom, small group, and individual support.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils with communication, sensory, and emotional needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and school staff.
- Assist with behaviour management and safeguarding procedures.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
- Experience within an SEN setting is highly desirable.
- Patient, proactive, and resilient personality.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging situations positively.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete compliance checks
