About the role:
Justteachers is looking for an experienced and motivated SEN Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Birmingham from September 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support students with diverse educational needs while delivering practical and engaging Science lessons that encourage curiosity and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach Science lessons across Key Stages appropriate to students’ abilities and needs.
- Differentiate learning activities to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
- Deliver practical experiments safely and effectively.
- Support students’ personal development, confidence, and independence.
- Assess progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/carers.
- Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and pastoral teams.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, or complex needs.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science.
- Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
